Hey guys,
I'm coming over from the 67-72 Chevytrucks world.
I sold a 67-72 Crew Cab 1 ton 4x4 conversion I was building. I bought this and walked away with a bunch of cash….
Any thoughts on how to best lose the gold? I'm not much a 49's fan. :o I'm not ready to do a full paint job, yet. I'd rather it be solid red. The gold appears to be painted on and then a clear coat over it. The clear is pealing now.
Plans, in no order: Alcoa's with 255/85/16, smallest lift to clear the wheels, fix the paint color, polish/cut existing paint, replace a fender, interior clean up/new carpet, lose the cap, line the bed, 4l80e, maintenance on all the other stuff…
I need to keep it on the road with no/little down time so I can….get some work done around the house and barn!!!!!!

I guess i could do that below the belt line…but am worried the new red would make the old look bad(even with a different colored pin stripe.) Maybe all black, semi-gloss or satin, below the belt line for now?

clean looking truck. I'm not a niners fan either but the paint doesn't look too bad.

well, I'm a Raider's fan (cough, cough) so it's gotta go! (it's been a painful decade+ )
possible looks:
-
maybe the red/black look till I can paint the entire truck...
-
I vote for the red/black also.

As much as you probably don't want to hear it... leave it until you CAN do a proper full paint job. Why do something twice?
A wise man once said... If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?
