CCSB Build help
« on: June 07, 2013, 12:25:06 PM »
Long time reader, first time poster:  New to the forum and looking for some help and ideas. i currently have a 74 SB that i want to use as a parts truck for my CCSB build. I have a 85 k30 4x4 frame the i just got and would like to start the project by cutting and moving the frame. problem i have is i don’t have a cab yet to set on the frame to make sure i cut it in the right spot.  does anyone have any pics or drawings that i can reference to start the cutting.  i want to have my roller chassis (lift, axles, engine, trans) done while i look for a solid cab. any help would be great, thanks!!!

Is the K30 a crew cab frame that you want to make a short bed?

http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php/topic,7175.0.html  is a great place to start.  About page 3 is the mentioning of cutting the frame.

If you put the shortbed on the frame it will be obvious where to cut, but there is 14" to remove from the front section and 6" you have to remove of the back of the frame.
