Title: Cam Recomendations
Post by: mattevandavis on April 19, 2018, 11:20:31 AM
I am looking to upgrade the cam in my 350.  I'm not looking for anything that requires changing the lifter or rocker type.  Some people would say I'm looking for a "RV" cam, others a mild cam.  While I am very new to understanding what all of the variables do with each cam, from what I have read I am looking for something in the range of 200/200 to 224/230.  Some people say the later is on the wild side of mild cams, while others say its almost not worth the upgrade.  I will purchase cam as a kit with springs / retainers, lifters, etc.  What are your thoughts / opinions?

Engine Info:
Unless noted "Stock"
CR - I believe 9:1

Read through Rich Weyand's reply in Re: Camshaft/ intake/ HEI upgrade questions! (http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=26161.msg217491#msg217491) and search for other threads by him using "camshaft" as the keyword.
