Hello everyone. Finally took the plunge and bought a c10. I read the forum a lot a few years ago when I was looking for a project but never bought one. Nobody wants to know about me though. Two days ago I picked up an unfinished project from a guy here in Houston. He did a 5.3 swap, refreshed most of the interior, and had it painted. Story goes the body shop folded up without fully finishing and he did good to get the truck back. Needs window channels, window motors need to be wired, vent windows need to be rebuilt, and door hinges need to be replaced and adjusted. Drivers door doesn't close well, passenger door has a gap at the top. New A/C components are there but wiring needs to be checked and system charged. I'll post pics and lots of questions as I go. Needs tires so I'll do some smaller wheels at the same time. I like 17" or smaller- these trucks need more tire than wheel imho.

Thanks. Nothing too exciting so far. Gathering parts and making a plan. Pulled the vent windows out to start rebuilding them

intellitronix gauges?

Your best bet is to pull the hood and front fenders, replace the hinges and get the doors fit perfectly. While your fenders are off it will be easier to tidy up everything in the engine compartment as well. Looks like a good start and I agree with you on the wheel to tire ratio.

Yes on the gauges. I need to order a new temp sender and a tach adapter. I'll make them work for now. The fuel is the worst, and it flickers up and down a percent constantly. Dakota may be twice the price but it seems like a way better product.

I will have to pull the fenders and start clean. Good point on cleaning up the engine bay at the same time.

Will wheels off of a 96 Camaro for the truck? Found some used the guy had on his Camaro. I think it’s the same bolt pattern. 285/35 and 245/40 tires.

I don't think it is the correct bolt pattern, and the fitment wouldn't be correct. You also have the protruding front hubs.

Haven’t made any picture worthy progress. Still on my wheel and tire quest. What about a 1970 c19- same backspacing and everything? Found a set that looks amazing in his 1970 but want to make sure they would  be the same for me.

1970's were mostly 6 lug.  If it is a stock 5 lug, yes they'll fit
