Muncie 3 spd overdrive (0.70)
« on: February 11, 2019, 10:26:54 PM »
I ran across some info on trans ratios and found this trans having a (only with this combo) 4.11 rear end with a 3 speed ratio of 1st..2.00, 2nd..1.18, 3rd..0.70, rev..2.95. I don't know if this one is the earlier OD's ---(tri 5's) with a solenoid-governor type or not.
Can anybody tell me what years these trans came out of? Where this info came from they were talking about Muncie- M330 trans.
The trans in the truck I'm after has a granny 1st gear which I am not real found of that's why I have ask about the NP440 OD in another thread also.

  Thanks

I edited my last line from my 1st post/thread above.

I was wrong when saying the-----"M330" trans has a overdrive to it, that RPO code belongs to the HD 3-spd 7 bolt side cover Truck trans from 69 and up yrs. What I have found that the Over Drive trans stopped production before 1969 ( I think). The M330 HD 3 spd starts its production run then (1969) if what I have found to be true.

I have a NV-3500 five speed in my 76 K-10

I like it much better than the granny four speed that it replaced

Wonder how come know one has figured out how to take the granny gear out and change the rears around and have a 4 over that would have been super kool.
You are not that hot to be that bitchy.

Carl if you get to tearing into it or just wanting to get your hands on the OD trans keep me in mind for any Info about the trans, you know numbers and all that. You would be that person with first hand info about it.

Thanks in advance
