Last time I had to buy one of those I got it from a dealer...about 13 years ago. I didn't look anywhere else for one because I just happened to be putting a roof on a dealership at the time.

Give me a long enough lever and a place to stand, and I shall move the earth or break this bolt...Whatever, just hold my beer!

I had this problem when I rebuilt mine, I ended up getting one from pick - pull.  None of the auto parts shops around me had a listing for them.  I did not try rock auto though, wonder if they would have it ?

I bought a set from Randy's Ring and Pinion,  I don't have the link handy but you'll find them through google or something.  Complete Offroad sells them too. Here's the link for them:

Quad 4x4 as well:  http://quad4x4.com/GM%20Front%20Axle.htm#QK4739

The inner bearing journal size changed in mid '77 as well.  The larger ones are 2 inches and fit '77 1/2  to '87 trucks (1/2tons and 3/4tons).  73 to early 77 trucks, burbs and blazers had a smaller inner bearing journal size.  They are available at Randy's as well.

The folks at Randy's told me their spindle's are stronger than stock.  Who really knows but they worked for me.

Well, I'm getting one from a friend for 20 bucks. It only took 8 months but I was in no hurry.

Good thing you were not in a hurry then.

Alrighty then. Everything is finally sarting to come together. My friend that had the spindle went down to the local pick a part and they ended up finally having the pars I need. He picked up the 8 lug rotor and the 3/4ton caliper plate for 45 bucks. I gave him 60 and he gave the rotor, plae, and spindle to me. With my employee discount at oreilly, it will cost me 110 bucks for all of the bearings and seals to redo the front axle and I think the ball joints. When I get paid next week I'm going to go back to pick a part and get the shackle and spring hangers for the front and the engine crossmember. I've got springs coming from a family friend for free, and then all I need is a pitman arm and tie rod and I'll have a front axle ready to go under my truck.
