Well i got back into the project today, i installed the front swaybar, this past weekend i cleaned it primed it and painted it the same red as the coils.I bought all new brackets and energy suspension bushings for it.Also went to the local hardware store today n spent about 20.00 for all stainless steel hardware.Overall it looks pretty good.Only thing left for the front end other then the engine plates is the steering box whick i may clean up and paint n install this upcomming weekend.

thanks
pat

p.s. I thought imay add a while back i mentioned bout a 454 i may have scored well i decided to go that route and recontacted the guy in hopes i score it for this project.I am gonna clean up my 350 and cover it up and every now n then spin it over..

Looks good...did you manage to find grade 8 stainless bolts, or are those just standard grade 2 or 5? I would be very leary of running grade 2 stainless bolts, and somwhat leary of grade 5..

Where did you get that sway bar from and how much did it set you back? My 74 has the holes for one, but it doesn't look like one was ever installed from the factory.

According to ADDCO you are not supposed to use polyurethane for the bushings on the a-arms.  It places too much twisting force on the control arm, supposedly.

never heard of that and i heard people using them w/o any problems, if there were problems companies like energy suspension wouldnt have produced them.

thanks

I retract that advice anyways, as I wouldn't put stock in anything ADDCO says anymore.  I just discovered (while attempting to bleed my steering system) that the sway bar I just installed limits my lock-to-lock by ONE FULL TURN.  They use the vertical link style (turns out theres a reason GM didn't go this route).  I am so >:(.  Now I'm hunting down another bar.

jeff,
thanks i am slowly working on the cowl section right now, i started to weld up the seams and gonna flush it and make it all smooth.I am also welding up any unnecessary holes that wont be needed and it should look of i hope.I was gonna get some rear fenders for this i found from a member here but something let go in our a/c system that forced me to put the sale aside.I like to buy fenders and a pass door from goodmark but i cant swing the 700.00 for the price and truck freight.SO i am gonna work on it i piece at a time till i can somehow next year maybe get it to paint.

thanks

$700 for 2 73-80 fenders and a door from where via Goodmark?  I can get them drop shipped to you for $450 and it would just be $150 for shipping those, so it would be $600 shipped.  If you drove to their warehouse you could pick it up for free.
