I have a few Quadrajets and was just reading up on them and the conclusion seems to be that they are better than either Edelbrock or Holley as they are more streetable and get better fuel economy, etc. Seemed like reading forums what guys said was the only advantage the aftermarket carbs have is that they are easier to tune - which is more important for use at the strip were your constantly tuning, for the street I dont think there is any advantage there. Guys use Quadrajets on race cars still, they are good for big horsepower etc.; the Quadrajet on my C10 is 750 CFM - they were only offered in 750 CFM or 800 CFM models on GM cars around these years - your Edelbrock 1400 is only 600 CFM.
