Title: 6.2 Diesel
Post by: 86GMC4x4 on April 01, 2006, 10:49:00 PM
I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a difference between the 6.2 diesels in vans and trucks. The reason being is we found one today at the wreckers in a 90 3/4 ton van that was not canibalized to bad just missing the starter and alt. One difference that I could see was where the fuel filter mounts.Getting the motor out of a van looks interesting though but the price is right. Any information would be appreciated

The only difference I am aware of is the vans used short injectors.

Was there much that went wrong with this year of 6.2??Had GM got the crank issue dealt with by this year?. What is the difference with short injectors??:

The 1990 6.2 was a good engine. The crank should not be an issue with this engine. The only difference with the injectors is they are physically shorter. Still work the same.
