I have a 1976 k5 blazer with a 491 bb,th350 trans,np 203 transfer case with Doug Nash gear conversion,14 bolt rear axle, hd dana 44 front axle. recently i've had to rebuild the trans because of a low reverse drum sun shell failure. in trouble shooting that failure I noticed the trans would no longer shift to low gear automatically. I would have to manually put in low with the gear selector. once in low it would not shift up unless I released the gas. then if I was on the gas any it seemed to go to neutral between shifts. I pulled the trans and my nephew and I rebuilt it with 700r4 center support, new sun shell, hd intermediate sprague, alto red discs and band, transgo shift kit and new paper rubber kit. It now has all its gears but still has the same down shift up shift problems. i'm a good old school mechanic (pre computer era) and my nephew is ase certified mechanic and has built many trans. but this problem has us stumped. any help and or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
