NEW RIDE
« on: May 23, 2017, 12:12:50 AM »
Ok so to sum things up seeing that my truck is gonna be out for a while I bought a new daily and here she is. Its a 1985 Suburban k20, 350 th400 and 208 t case.  Barn doors 6" suspension lift, rough country shocks, all that good stuff. I picked it up for $700. Runs like a dream drove it home 300 miles without a problem. The only thing is the interior is TRASHED. The second row seat has no sitting cushion the first row was a bench seat that only had cushion on the driver spot. AND to top it all off there's no spots to mount a 3rd row 🤔🤔. So does anyone know where I can get some new seats, door panels, headliner, carpets etc? Basically needs an all new interior. Also is it possible to put front bucket seats that I usually see in burbans with the center console to replace the bench? Is there a way to mount a 3rd row seat? Thanks everyone for all the help and positive feedback I get on these forums!

Nice !

At that price you still have plenty of $$ for gas

I'm guessing it will never see double digit MPG

My burb Never got over 9.5 no matter how easy I was on the throttle

I think it had the 700r4
It was a early  90s 3/4 ton  el-strippo version with the rubber floor and plastic seats
Surveyors truck o bought at an auction
Not sure of the axle gears
It had a 350 and was a great tow Rig
I had to move a 28 foot camper and a heavy 22 foot cabin cruiser from south Florida to Atlanta and I knew my 4 runner wasn't gonna work for that and no place would rent a truck when we mentioned towing something with it
So we bought a cheap burb at an auction, used it to make those two trips
Made one 400 mile trip with no trailer , but I drove 400 miles in 5 hours in the burb
Stayed between 80 and 90 mph for 5 hours ,
Got a call that my mom had a ruptured colon and gangrene had set in and wasn't expected to live more than a few hours,  she managed to pull through , and is still kicking years later

Sold the burb the first day we parked it out with a sign on it to someone who had a huge boat for $1000 more than we paid
