New guy from Dallas with a '80 C10
« on: July 21, 2017, 01:37:33 PM »
Hello everyone. All the posts on here have been both inspirational and educational so thank you! I currently have a 1980 C10 Long bed. 350 v8 which is running nice and strong along with my transmission. A lot of people will probably stomp on me for this but I literally have just started learning and understanding what's under the hood and how my truck runs. I need a lot of safety clicks and cosmetic work to get the state of Texas to let me drive her on the road so that's the path I'm on for now. I plan to redo the electrical/sensors/lights first and I've been religiously searching for a 73-80 clip to replace the 81 clip I have on it now. I have no one around the neighborhood to question for mechanical help or reference questions to so it's just you guys and YouTube to get me around this leaning curve so again, thank you for all the posts! My first success was replacing my master cylinder and bleeding the brakes....next up is getting my speedometer and my temp gauge working again. Post that up soon.....

Hello and welcome to the site from Central California!  Trucks are a great platform for learning and relatively easy to access.  A milk crate to stand on and basic tools will carry you far.  Well done on the brake repair!
