What's the current going value on a 1991 700r4?
« on: September 02, 2017, 08:06:58 AM »
I bought that 1991 v1500 suburban I was talking about and and starting to part it and was wondering if 200-250 was a fair price for the 700r4, assumed stock. With TV cable and bracket.

It shifts great towed my 3800lb gmc jimmy 90 Miles home and even held OD on the flat land ( I manually shifted to 3rd when I got to hills out of habit)

I've only gotten 1 offer of 225 but he's looking for something vloser and had it posted for 250, but no bites really. Just want to make sure I'm asking a fair price, so I can get it sold to pay  bills, my wife's medical copays are taking every penny I've got right now.

generally speaking we dont do "whats it worth" if it was me looking for a 700r4/241 i would take the risk on 250, but i would offer 200 just to see if you would bite. the issue is that trans. you really dont know what youre buying unless you test it yourself and i wouldnt pay over "core charge" for it.

core on that trans is about 300+/-.

Whoa! Where are you that has that high of core charges for these trans? I've got one I'd cash in. Lol around here (missouri) a core isn't worth more than $75-$100.  Maybe a little more if you trade a trans supplier for parts. Lol

But Irish is right. $250 is fair price for someone to take a risk on it. I would ask more if it was trans and tcase combo. I could use that 241c tcase though!

i was going off autozones website for their core charge. most times they tend to be up there. can you just sell a core to a store?
