cold start
« on: September 08, 2017, 05:58:01 PM »
i have an 85 chevy silverado 350 and stock carb.  When it sits for a few days, I have to pump the accelerator at least 25 times before it starts.  It wasn't always like this just the last couple of years.  I don't drive it too much so I didn't really worry about it too much.  Just wondering if anyone has any similar issues and or fixes?

The carburetor fuel bowl may be draining into the intake manifold past the secondary and primary fuel well plugs.  It is an easy fix, but requires removal and disassembly of the carburetor, which makes for a great opportunity to perform a carburetor overhaul.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
