Dream Garage Build
« on: February 26, 2018, 11:15:39 AM »
Well I finally purchased my dream estate.  Not much looking at it but I have big plans and a vision of what can be.  First things first is my shop/garage/temporary living quarters... Room enough in the back yard 29' from the house is going a 32x40 garage.  They are digging the footings as I type.  Here is after I removed the shed this past weekend before they started digging.  The white oak has to go...  2nd picture is the house view.  Garage is behind the house and almost smack dab in the center of 19.53 acres

Congratulations on the purchase!  It sounds like you have a solid plan that will turn out very nice.  Well done!

Haven't measured the pole barn yet that came with the property but it seems to be about 30x50.  Been out there arranging stuff today, got beautiful sun and upper 50's

40 wide is all I could go.  If you look at the first picture, we had to drop a size-able white oak.  Beyond that it goes down hill pretty fast and I am 21' from the house as it stands right now.  Here is the pole barn also on the property.  32x48, needs a little TLC but keeps the weather off my trailer and flat bed

if it was 80,000 sq ft I'd still run out of room!

Congratulations.  You will have the perfect set up with a garage & that pole barn.  Having that barn that will fit your truck & trailer is priceless.

Nice, did you run expansion joints around the perimeter? I did with mine as well as inside and outside curtain drains and used fiber mesh. Not one crack in my floor :) It also has a nice pitch as well so water will drain to the doors. If I could do anything different it would be a heated floor and plumbing drains but I got divorced right as I was in the middle of my build so i had to make some cut backs, maybe in my next life.

You must be excited! Are you putting lift(s) in your garage?

expansion joints are being cut next week.  They did add fiber mesh to the mix.  No floor drains but the door opening is pitched.  I am on a big hill so no water problems.  I do have it plumbed for a 3/4 bath.  I am super excited.  My first shop.  No more working out on a gravel drive...
