Troubleshooting rear lights
« on: November 29, 2018, 09:36:27 PM »
75 Chevy K10 Stepside.

Rear driver side light is on (I can't tell if the light is on "running light" or "stop"). Passenger side is off. No change when pressing the brake.
Switch replaced.
Still no change when pressing the brake.

Rear turn signals functioning normally.

Although the rear brake and signal lights share a single bulb, why would my passenger side function as a turn signal but not as brake light?
Bulbs changed for good measure.

So this is a 2-pronged issue:
-What's up with my passenger side light not working as a brake light but normally as a turn signal?
-Why is there no change when pressing the brake even if the switch is new?

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks  ;D

could be a broken wire going to the brake light prong. if I recall its a brown wire for brakes and green or yellow for turn signals, depending on the side.
