I put a 6bt in my 79 1/2 ton. I would reccomend a 6bt over a 4bt in a one ton especially if you are doing any pulling... but check out www.4btswaps.com they have lots of good info

I have been helping a buddy restore (frame off)  a old army Jeep pick up and where going to install the BT4 with a turbo from the cummings 6 (dodge one ton donner) the getrag trans. Its going to be a nice truck when done. I will insure to get some pics to share.

Ur looking for a 6BT, not a 4BT CUMMINS <----spelled like this  :P

(6BT is 6cyl, 4 is 4cyl)

There is on Fleabay a guy selling Cummins to Chevy motor mount brackets. After that all u need is the adapter plate for the tranny from a Chevy P30 bread van that comes equiped with a Cummins 4BT TH400. IF you intend on running a TH400 or 4L80E. Its pretty easy, just can get alittle close to the firewall.
