which head gasket set do I buy?
« on: September 12, 2008, 03:05:10 PM »
Im putting a set of 062 casting vortec heads off of a 97 chevy silverado half ton onto a 84 350 block. Do I buy a head gasket kit for the 97 truck or a head gasket kit for the 84 truck. Thanks

The head bolts are the same but the valve train componants have to match the newer heads.

yes you'll need the newer rockers and such but I would replace the head bolts.
