1985 C30 Crew Cab Dually
« on: September 11, 2014, 08:21:14 AM »
New here guys, this is my first square body crew cab, dually and 6.2L diesel and I love it. Not fast but steady and pulls srong plus good fuel mileage. Thinking about replacing the 3 speed with granny with a later 5speed NVF4500, but thats questions for a different section of the forum....... Bought this truck from the original owner, 160,000 original miles.....very well cared for and well maintained truck, got lots of questions about the diesel engine, and a few other areas but will ask em later....in the meantime keep the shiney side down......... :D

I've never owned a diesel vehicle.  I've heard the NV4500 swap is a good thing and have been considering it for a while on my 85 C20.  I have a SM465 in it with a 3.21 gear, just don't want to bog it down in OD even though the 454 really likes the low RPM's.
