Title: White Smoke at start-up
Post by: Bobby Nelson on September 01, 2005, 03:21:00 PM
Recently had to replace Cam Shaft and lifters on 1978 350ci.
Replaced the intake while it was apart. Engine has approx. 80,000 miles and never even puffed a hint of smoke prior to this. Now, upon start-up I get a good sized puff of white smoke. It only lasts for a few seconds and once the engine is running, never again does it smoke. If I knew it was time for a valve job, I would have had it done when it was all apart. Could something have happened during the Cam installation that need to be adjusted now??

Thanks
