Courtesy light location

I have a 1974 Chevy C10 step side short body.  The courtesy light is dangling from dash via a tie wrap.  Does anybody have a pic of where it goes or maybe could give a verbal description.  I don't see the bolt pattern anywhere.....

under dash one in plastic housing is near between the ash tray and glove box door.  I have a picture but it is on my desktop computer.. I am mobile this weekend

So i did found a hole there.  I think I have it right.  It is out of the way and lights the floor.  guess it is supposed to.  thanks for the input.  Very helpful.

So folks, this is about the courtesy light that is in the middle of the dash? bulb more or less in the same size of a brake bulb?

I've one too there, I was under the impression that was custom by the previous owner.

My truck has Silverado trim, and the single light under the middle of the dash was standard.   It doesn't light the floor that well, so I picked up two more and spliced them in so that I now also have one in each footwell.  I also swapped in the LED dome light, which is brighter than the stock dome light.

I got it correctly placed.  I do need to replace the bulb with a LED.  The rest of the interior is now all LED but I missed this one....  Thanks all.

I only have two courtesy lights.  One above the rear window in the center of the cab, and the other below the dash close to the ashtray.  1974 chevy c10.  Stepside.  cheyenne
