Rear Window Latch
« on: September 24, 2011, 12:55:20 PM »
Well I read the forum / searched the forum and have not found a resolution to my problem other than 'replace the slider rear window with solid, cause sliders blow."

Here's my question:  The rear slider latch pieces come off of the glass [both sides] with great ease at the 'gentle' prodding of my 15year old son.  The 'duct tape and bailing wire' engineer in me is thinking about using some sort of 'chucktamiam' super bond epoxy or glue to hold the latch pieces in place... however, I am certain this will lead to a mess and regret later.

What say you?  I've read that there are 'cheap-low quality' latches to be had out there...but, what is the 'right way' to repair without going to a solid glass window?

Thanks for your advice-

I prefer the rear slider all day long. A truck needs to still be a truck. Just get a replacement latch for it.

I had to put a new latch on mine when I got it. Real easy to do like Vile said just get a replacement for it. I prefer the rear slider too!!
