Title: Rally Wheels Hub Caps
Post by: hdaniels on July 14, 2023, 04:27:09 PM
Thought maybe someone here would know the answer. Some Rally wheel hub caps have a square indent in them. Was there some square washer / spacer that filled in that area from the factory? I don't see any spacers or washer available for that space.

I *think* the recess is more designed for the plastic lug nut covers to have room.  I could be completely wrong though, as my wife reminds me often.

It may have been part of a jig used in production, there are no other square areas.

I have done the exact refinishing of my hubs.

Are you going to paint the bolts that hide the squares?

I misread the question....nevermind my response.

Did not paint the bolts, went with some polished stainless steel allen button head bolts.

Looks nice!

Those self tappers from the factory can strip out.

One of my wheels had like two that were.

Good thing there are drilled holes between lugs that I could drill and tap. Good as new!

Did you clear coat the wheels? I used wheel paint the first time and did not CC. Second time I did, what a difference!
