Hello,

I'm still kinda new but this is a topic I really believe I can assist with - for a change! I was an electronic repair tech for 13 years.
What are you trying to de-solder? There's numerous ways, I usually go with the best for what I'm working on. Next is what tools you have at your disposal. The majority can be accomplished with a solder wick, for hole through I used a vacuum machine. I am sure I have more suggestions based on your reply. Happy to share anything that might assist you.

bd's link surely covered it with the exception of snorting it with a straw. I didn't see that in there.
