Instrument cluster quartz clock
« on: July 17, 2001, 04:06:00 PM »
I'm now searching for a clock to fit into the instrument cluster of my 87 Scottsdale.  Any help????  I checked the catalogs to no avail.  Called the local GM dealer, who said there was never a clock for that instrument cluster.  I know he's wrong, cause I've see a few over the past few years.

I don't know exactly what years had clocks but I don't think they came in the mid-late 80's trucks. My buddy's 77 Scottsdale has one if that helps. It shouldn't be too hard to rig up if you can find one.Good luck.

i know their not even in the catalogs :(  . my friend is an idiot, he had a 73 with a clock, but he took it out because he wanted to put the gas meter in there, and an RPM meter there the gas goes. i want one too, all i have is an ugly white circle.

I found a genuine GM clock on 7/26/01.  The place stated there were three more available.  I paid $15.00, and IT WORKED!  Give GM Auto Parts a call at 1-800-535-4787, or 402-467-3531.  This is a GM salvage yard and they provide a 30 day warranty on most used parts.

I was getting sick of looking at my gauges (also with no clock 83 Custom Deluxe). So I went and purchased the AutoMeter ProComp gauges (w/ silver face). These gauges look great, easy to install (small trimming of plastic panel). These gauges work well (very accurate). They also have a clock that matches. If you are looking to replace all of your gauges I would check out these AutoMeter gauges. Also compared to original gauges the prices aren't too bad.

I have an 81 Silverado with the clock. It didnt work for a while until one day I was messing with the hot wires for my cd player and next thing you know I can hear a tick. Also PHOENIX if you could please give me the model num. for the autometer gauges. Does anyone have pictures of their aftermarket gauges so I can get some ideas. Thanks in advance
