Can I convert my 84 p/u to intermittent wipers by installing the correct wiper switch and control box? The wiper motors look the same, is there an additional harness involved?

Is your wiper switch on the column or in the dash?
There is also an aftermarket set up available that is quite the easy installation. I'm sure you can find one still. Try searching on

84 is the first year on the blinker lever.

Mine is a 1986 GMC C1500. It has thhe swich on the lever.
