Hello from VA
« on: October 15, 2007, 05:29:11 PM »
Hello,

This is a excellent website. I just wanted to check in and say hello to everyone. I have a 79 K30 1ton 4x4 that I have had for about 12 years. I purchased it used. I drove it while I was on active duty in the navy. I drove until my last day in the navy and the transfercase died and it would not move to get off the base. So I had it towed and it has set for about 8 years. I found a website that sells rebuild and new transfercases. That began my journey to rebuilding and restoring my 79. Here is some pick and progress. I recieved a new transfercase from monstertransfercases.com and had it installed. So far I have upgraded the rear brakes with a TSM MFG disk brake conversion. New front leaf springs and new polyurethane bushing for the front suspension.
Here are a few pics.
