help ! im out of hair to pull out (dash ignition '77 kurbmaster)
« on: November 06, 2011, 11:14:45 PM »
hi guys.....
im wiring up a new dash for the ugly duck, went with all new aftermarket gauges....well, basically everything is new that sits on, in, or around the dash.....

i have done my homework, but cannot for the life of me find a wiring diagram for the back of a GM in dash ignition switch...

i need to know what color wire goes to what location on the switch.....
the entire under dash wiring got ripped out this afternoon, and all pieces parts separated from the wiring harness
this is the shape of my switch plug, if someone could post a pic or list for me, "wire goes from this spot on plug to this spot on[whatever]"

trying to do this on my own, and i have 93% of it figured out, just cant find anything that shows this switch schematic

thanks a lot !

I will try to look at my 77 today and see if I can see what you need.  As far as a wiring schematic, someone with a electrical wiring manual for that year might be willing to scan what you need, just have to wait and see if they look at the post, but I will see if I can look tonight after work.

That connector looks like a 67-72 Switch connnector that goes to the switch with the key in the back of it...

The 73-87's would have a switch mounted to the column that looks like this:

The ignition switch wiring for the 1977 is here:

With that said, this is how American Auto Wire shows the hookups.

I missed the boat and the dock on that one.  Not only did I read right over "kurbmaster" I did not even know what it was.  Guess I just added another to my quota of new knowledge today.
