need help with wiring, schematic and bulk head connection color code would be helpful. Bulhead connection layout would be very helpful. I have all of the 77's wiring. I want to use the electrical oil pressure guage instead of the mechanical that came on the 77. I know that wire should be tan.

If you plan to use the current cluster that has the mechanical, it won't work as there is no way to get the signal to the gauge.
If you plan to use a different cluster, there isn't a wire in the connector from the sender.

Welcome from California.  Have you looked in the tech section, do a search for wiring diagrams, they are laid out there.
#1: The easiest and most obvious solution to any problem is 99% of the time correct.
#2: There is no such thing as impossible, it just takes longer.

I saw the schematics, they are helpful but i'd like to see a bulkhead connector layout/color placement. I have all the wiring from the 85 diesel and know the wiring cant be too much different. It did have a turbo 400 so the kickdown switch at the accelerator wont be used. On the steering coumn it only has a switch for the reverse lights-no neutral switch. Maybe it was on the trans???

The truck which the cab came off of was a 2500GMC diesel which had a gas engine in it. the wiring was a mess ( wire nuts and extension cord wire to make it work).

Well its all working and functions well. A 1977 with 1985 tilt wheel , intermit. wipers (on the column now) A/C,P/W, and dr. locks. Now onto installing the seats and carpet. The info I found here was very helpful. This truck reminds me of the Johny Cash song and his Cadillac made from many different years!

The bed is off my 1982 c-10 which required a left side fuel tank install on the 77. Pretty cool... The 82 will get a six foot bed install.
