454 carb question
« on: January 20, 2013, 08:29:35 PM »
Hey guys I have a 1983 Chevy shortbed dually with a stock 454 motor in it. I want to do some cheaper upgrades and I am going to do headers, exhaust, intake, air filter etc. I want to put a carb on it. Any suggestions? I think it is a gen 4 motor whatever stock 454 would be in an 83 but what is the best carb I can put in it because I know a carb could either make or break your performance.

Thanks Adam

This is a loaded question. The best carb has a lot of things riding on what options you have or may have and not yet know about. The best carb can also be severly misjudged by your ability to tune one not to mention budjet. If you do a search you will find a lot of threads on this question and if you have any questions on what you find feel free to post them as well.
