np241 rebuild questions

I just bought a passenger drop np214 out of 90 blazer and I need to rebuild it.  Its been sitting out for a long time so I assume it needs a rebuild.  I got it for an ls swap so i could use a 4l60e.  My question is how hard is it to rebuild?  I've never rebuilt one and I'm not sure how difficult it would be.  Would I just be better off getting it professionally done or is it easy enough to do yourself?  Thanks guys

its a drivers side drop but should be the same ideal

Any guesses on how much it would cost to have a tranny shop rebuild it?

If the fluid looks good I doubt it needs rebuilding
Unless it was in a truck owned by a redneck or teenager

Lock it in 4 hi and spin the input shaft with one hand with your other hand on the output shaft
See if it spins smooth with no bumps
And hold one and rock the other shaft back and forth to check the slack in the chain

Do the same in 4 lo
And also spin it in 2 hi
If the fluid is clean and everything spins freely and there is little or no slop in the chain I'd install it and run it

They are easy to install and remove

Thanks i had a guy look at it and it's in pretty good shape.  Changed the seals and stuff.  Should work perfect.  Thanks guys
