I put mine in not long ago, cut pile. Got it from brothers trucks, (should have went with site store). Very tight and thick, and tough. Which is what i wanted. Laid in real nice, good formation. Regardless, its an auto custom carpet brand. I hear 80/20 is high quality too.

If the site store has the same for about the same price, then of course i would go with the site store. I believe they are also ACC.

Which sound deadener is best, EVA or the Jute with foil, or could I use both?

EVA is more OEM style rubber based. But i have seen some real high tech stuff similar too the jute with foil. It comes in squares i believe, and of course you stick them down. I used some very high density thick carpet padding, for the price i couldnt refuse, worked out great.

Would I need the sound deadener if I get carpet with the mass backing?

I would say not. After my thick padding and carpet and new door weather stripping, its like a recording booth in there now. I hate noise on a daily non performance driver. I went back to single exhaust with a real quiet muffler. Love it!!

Constrained Mat damping is really how you control noise in the floor.  If you have the carpet with mass backing, it will work really good with the jute pad.  It is really a system.

I installed a new ACC carpet in my 73. It had the mass backing and the jute padding already press formed to the carpet. How far from the door seals should I trim the carpet? I don't have the door sills yet and currently just trimmed it and tucked it down next to the seals.

This is ACC cut-pile.

Cut pile is like modern cars.

LOOP pile is like 60's cars.

They are definitely not all the same.

This^  Go for the ACC brand. I think Chris sells them.  Get matching floor mats.  Just be sure to buy carpet, floor mats and any extra carpet you need in one order so it matches perfectly.
