How are 1969 to 1972 Blazers/Jimmys listed on Title?

Hi all,

Been a long time since I posted here as I sold my 1987 Silverado a few years ago.  Did this as we moved to a Condo community that does not allow truck.  It's okay though - this truck was a tick too new for my tastes and had TBI with a small block.

I'm more of a 69-72 guy with a big block, carburetor and HEI.

The condo community does allow Jeeps.  I heard the specific rule is,

If there is a seat over the rear axle

I'll check and see but I also wanted to ask any of you guys that own a classic Blazer or Jimmy, how is the truck described on the title?

Does it say TRUCK anywhere?

Or does it say UV or Utility Vehicle or SUV or Sport Utility Vehicle?

I've owned 4 of these,

1969 Blazer 2-wheel drive
1973 Blazer 2-wheel drive
1973 Blazer 4-wheel drive
1975 Jimmy 4-wheel

BUT - I don't remember the wording on the title?

Anyone with a classic Blazer or Jimmy maybe take a look at their title and see how the Government describes these rigs?

Thanks,

Mike

DMV always issued them as "station wagon" in CT. I'm curious to see how they title my 75 K5, if and when I ever get it. DMV has had my paperwork for about 6 weeks now so I am patiently waiting. Since the station wagon, the new term is SUV so best bet is to check with your DMV and ask. Also, it seems that a lot of the time they will issue the title based on how you complete the registration classification so it's not uncommon to see errors on the previous title. They certainly never do their own research.

I'm sorry but I say this is illegal on it's face!

That condo HOA rules have the power to dictate what a homeowner drives is not reasonable in the least.

Have you read the charter, and bylaws? What basis is given, if any?

Have they been challenged, EVER?

So 'lunch moiey' ran for the board and calls the shots?

I live in condo complex and this is one time that I am happy to live in the land of fruits and nuts., California, where at least this HOA is cool enough to live and let live. The rest of the State has disappeared in the last 45 year of my life.

Mike,
It's Good to hear from you again.
My experience is that the vehicle gets titled as whatever is written down or checked off on the registration paperwork.
My M1009 Military Blazer was titled in New Hampshire as a station wagon like Vile mentioned some stated do with the with the K5's.  When I registered it in Mass the Insurance company called it an SUV, so that's what it my Ma title says on it.
My 1984 M1028 (Military K30) came from North Carolina where it was titled as a CUCV (what the Military refers to as a Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle).  My insurance company never heard of a CUCV so they filled out the papaerwork stating it was a 1984 Chevrolet Military truck & that's what my Ma title says on it.
I'm guessing yours would get titled as a station wagon like Vile mentioned or an SUV like mine is in Ma.

My 74 Bronco is listed as “utility” on the registration

I could never live in an HOA

I’m the kind of people that HOAs keep out

HOAs are crazy
I delivered some antique furniture to a friend that lived in a condo and before we even got it unloaded some tard shows up on a golf cart yelling  that pickups are not allowed.
It’s kinda hard to deliver furniture in a Prius

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Have not gotten around to checking out the exact wording of the HOA agreement but pretty sure it state something about the vehicle must have come from the factory with a seat over the rear axle.

Will update when I confirm and sometime in the future if and when I get either a classic Blazer/Jimmy or a Jeep.

I'm leaning hard towards the classic Blazer simply because I like the simplicity of the engineering and thus my ability to take one apart and put it back together again blindfolded in the dark.  Can't say that about anything modern.  :)
