I wouldn't ever run single exhaust behind headers.  I have Summit chambered muffs and a Dynomax duals set up.

Well thanks for that advice cuz I've been contemplating If I should keep it single (because the truck came that way) or go Dual.

Is the muffler guy gonna have a hard time adapting a dual exhaust to my 86 if I take it to him?

And any idea how much they would charge to run pipes all they way from the headers to past the rear axle?

Your local exhaust specialist should be able to whip out something fine.
