Hi guys - another easy question for you! As I cant remove either seat from my truck yet due to access problems can you tell me if they are interchangeable? It looks like I might have to swap brackets but hoping for a quick answer
cheers

I think in your truck, the front will be a non-folding type while the back is a folding type. The folding type should work up front, but the seat frame mounting points might be a little different.
I am thinking of the floor shape when I say the frames would be different, I don't know for sure. Anyone else?

The front should be a fixed back while the rear seat back should fold forward for access behind. On my 86 they interchanged and so did the floor brackets. Front seat, front bolts come out when seat is all the way back and move the seat forward should allow you to easily get to the rear bolts.

The front and rear frame are identical. The location of the fixed back vs folding is different, they are the same frame though.
If you remove the brackets from the seat frame you can swap them front to rear...

Managed to crawl my way into the garage! The front seat slides with a fixed back, the rear seat is fixed totally.
Thanks for the info Chris I'll prob put front to rear etc cos the foam's knackered in the front base and the rear is like new.
Had some rather exciting news today after speaking with my parents. My 2nd cousin (or however it works!) used to work as a self employed upholsterer for the UK car company AC Cobra and he still has some velours etc and the sewing machine!! Just spoken to him (after all the years) and have to run a seat over Thursday night to see if he can do it. He's retired now but its family...........................

Sweet! If you can find a overseas shipping company I have seat covers 73-87 and foam for the 81-87. It may have a non tilt in the rear of the early trucks BTW.

Just an update! Both benches removed, that was the easy bit! 4x screws on each seat to separate the base from the backs. It has taken me two evenings!! two captive nuts came unwelded and I ended up welding nuts to the screw head just to undo them. Its been a nightmare. Just off on a 45mile trip to see if my cousin will do them
