I have a NP203 transer case. My question is this; The shifter is always rattling, I was told I could replace some bushings in the shifter to correct this. I called the dealer and found out that they no longer manufactured or sell these. They also do not manufacture or sell the whole shifter. Has anyone else had this problem, if so any ideas on how to correct it. Thanks for the help.

I have to agree with them, between the rubber mounts that hold the transfer case still and the bushing or bolts in the shifter,

i had the same problem with the shifter on my 205 in my '74 i know it's a different case but the same thinng should apply my would rattle really bad and drive me nuts. but it was also so loose you could'nt tell if it was in 2hi or 4hi I took it all apart and made some bushings out of brass shim stock and that tightend it up nicely and you could then feel the difference between its different locations and it didnt rattle any more either.

I have solved this problem similer to earlier mentioned making my own bushings only I used copper pipe. I have also done the put the work glove over it to quiet it down. I havent driven a pre 208 case truck for a while almost forgot about that anoying rattle.
