been looking around for a nicer set of rims for my 87 suburban, an came across a set of rims HD chevy truck. now my question would be, did chevy go to metric wheel studs or do they still run the same wheel studs as what is on my suburban?

GM kept the same stud pattern up until 2010 if I remember correctly.

Wheel stud went metric in 1988 with the model change I believe. The conversion lugs ( to use the later style center caps) are available in the standard sizes. I have 2006 Rims/caps on my 1985 extended cab

i didnt know when GM went to metric wheel studs on their trucks, cause i found a set of rims that are off a 2001 HD that has the centers an lugs to an didnt know if the those lugs would work on my suburban

Chevy 8-lug wheels all swap out from 1967-2010 as far as lug pattern and center bore sizing. Somewhere in the 67-10 range I've heard SOME earlier dodge and ford wheels swap out too, but i have no idea what years for them.
I know for a fact 2001 lug nuts will not work on our trucks as my wheels came off that very year. You need 9/16-18 "dual thread" lugs, then you'll be set. I have a set of those metric lug nuts in my "bolt bucket" rotting away.

didnt realize they carried the same bolt pattern an center bore size as long as they did, i thought they would have changed that when they went to the new body style. where i work at, i asked one of the mechanics about the bolt pattern for dodge, an the way he talked they carried the same pattern as GM but he didnt say when they changed it. with ford though, they way he talked, was before they went to the super duty, the rims off a ford truck would work, but when they came out with the super duty, i guess thats when they went metric an changed the patterns.
anyway, would those dual thread lugs would they have to be special order part from advanced auto or autozone? looking on their site, it shows they have them. but i was curious if they'd have to special order those or not.

Don't know if chain stores would have them. I got mine off ebay
Here's a set, only one I could find on there. As long as they are DUAL THREAD and 9/16-18 they will work.

No, Auto part stores do not have specialty lug nuts like that. I'd know, I work at O'reilly. Pep Boys might, but it is a long shot. Your best bet is ebay, and its a pretty decent price in reality. Photobucket is down right now, once its back up ill grab the pictures of my wheels.
