Does anyone have or know where I can buy a power door locks relay for a 1984 C10? Or, is there a modern day alternative I could use in its place?
-
I believe this is the last aftermarket one left on earth lol

check eBay

What's wrong with yours? Remember they are case grounded so they need to be rigidly attached to the bracket by the column.

I bought this truck with all thevwiring stuffed into a box. I decided to replace everything with an American Autowire kit, but it doesn't include the harness for the power windows and locks and there is no relay in with the old wiring.
Thanks for the link.

Are you sure it's not still bolted in?

Although I didn't nt know exactly where they are suppose to be mounted, The don't see one anywhere inside the truck.

RH side of the steering column on the bracket. It's hard to see as it's tucked in there tight.

Here's a pic

Nope, nothing.

There's another used one on eBay listed today. You can probably get one cheaper if you pull it yourself from a truck, blazer or suburban. Monte Carlo, Buick etc same relay

_____________
So we cut the old relay out and now I can't get the "new" one rigidly attached for a good ground. Any suggestions?
-
Is it the same relay to lock and unlock . I have the same issue , but mine will lock , but not unlock
-
Yes one relay

What do you mean? It's bolted in, you just remove the bolt and tighten the bolt to install. What did you cut?

Ok thanks , is possible that the relay will fail and only lock the doors , and not unlock them.? I’ve replaced both switch’s with the same result
-
Why did you replace the switches? Have you tested anything yet? Just follow the diagram with a test light. the most common failure are broken wires in the door jamb
-
I have a lot of extra parts laying around the garage from other trucks , took a couple minutes to swap out switches and rule out that the switches themselves are bad . Since I know that they are good , I can move on to other things like the wires in the door etc .... which I’ll be doing next .. thanks guys ....

After a small amount of research, the door lock relays are the same for a great number of cars and trucks, got one from a gm car
