Well I painted the full floater tonight, I used Krylon Implement paint, I'm impressed! It came out great! It's still drying right now but I'll be putting it under the truck hopefully tomorrow night. But I'm excited about it!

The primer I used is an odd brown colored Rustoleum "Rusty metal primer... for the ultimate finish on heavily rusted metal" and it went on really good!

And since I forgot to post interior pictures before, here's the interior!

Well this is where I'm at now, I sold the 350 today for $400 so next is ordering the BTR Stage III Truck Cam and LS6 valve springs, LS7 lifters and Walbro 255 fuel pump

I've started trying to clean up the engine bay az well, going to paint as much as I can gloss black.

Well my plans have changed some...I traded my '97 Subaru for a '92 heavy-half because it has the one thing I've wanted since the beginning.... An NV4500. Tranny feels great and is coming out tomorrow. I'm super excited for it, I've always preferred to drive a manual and the NV4500 is my holy grail :D I'll post pictures once it's out!

That's my buddies truck, his '79 half ton is getting the 3/4 ton front axle from the parts truck in the beginning of the thread, and the semi floater from my truck now that I've taken the full floater from that truck. I'll post pictures of his once we start working on it

Nv4500 came out in 91, 6.5 diesel came out mid 92. You can turn input on tranny and count output turn. Almost a 7:1 is an early tranny

http://www.advanceadapters.com/nv4500-transmission.php they say 92
http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transmissions/manual/nv4500 they say 93
http://www.dieselhub.com/trans/nv4500.html they say 92
http://www.allpar.com/mopar/transmissions/NV4500.html and another 92

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Venture_Gear_4500_transmission this reliable page says 91

6.5td did come out in 92. but i was thinking about the PMD box on them coming out in 94 and when i was looking for a tcu for my 4l80e you could get one off a 91-93. knew the 93 was a 6.5td non electronic and for some reason i thought the 91 and 92 were 6.2

was there other 5 speed options back then also? i know when i looked for the 4500 theres a few trans that could also be 5 speeds

Took my transmission to the self serve car wash and cleaned it off haha, looks much better now! Also cleaned my valve covers, going to get them powdercoated by a buddy of mine, I want to get them a deep candy purple like the last picture... Hopefully they turn out as nice!

Got my headgaskets from summit....They came like this, box was beat up so I'm blaming USPS....Had them swap out the order with some GM gaskets as I was told they're better than Fel-Pro ones, they fixed the order and shipped em out same day! Summit is easily one of my favorite companies to deal with. Lifetime customer :)

But anyway the rest of the complete BTR gasket kit and cam should be coming next week or the week after, cam is out of stock at BTR at the moment so I have to wait until it's in stock to order it. Going with the Stage IV truck cam now.

It's been a while since I've updated this but I've done some work on the engine, got my cam, gasket kit, valve springs, valve seals, LS2 timing chain and installed all of that last night

And did a lotttttt of cleaning :S

I went to install my LS7 lifters only to realize I only had 12 of them... The site I ordered them off of didn't label it clearly at all that it was only 12 so now I have to wait to get four more before I can completely assemble the engine. I did notice I have an exhaust bolt broken off in one of my heads, what's the best way of removing it??

How deep is the broken bolt? If it sticks out just a little, welding a nut to it and letting a candle melt near the base should let it come out.
