Hello from KS! New and need help
« on: November 08, 2017, 01:50:18 PM »
Hello everyone!!! Just purchased an Ol' '80 Big Face and haven't a slightest clue whats what. I'm a young dude going to college for machining with lots of experience in working with cars, old hotrods, and drag cars. However, I have never in my life done any major work on a truck besides welding together a buddies flatbed and helping replace a rear end on his '86 Sierra. The C10 I bought isnt just a project vehicle - its the only vehicle I have. I figured if its time to get a new truck the most logical thing to get would be the worlds most readily available and modular one, 73-87 Chevy. The only problem is I have no idea what I'm doing in the realm of trucks. The frame and motor are straight and run well, but the body is in need of a complete rehaul (going for a muscle build), Im also well down the line maybe looking at performing a short bed conversion. I know it'd easier to hunt down a short bed and do a swap, but sometimes its about the effort more than the result.

Either way I'm new to the C/K world with half a clue and lots of questions. I'm really excited to join you guys and your awesome projects and thrilled and open to hear all the help and advice you have!
