Bringing a 77 C10 2wd back to life and need some advise.
The cab mount frame brackets are extremely worn out. I've found a set on ebay and i'm wondering if cutting out the rivets, punching them trough the frame then bolting a new set of brackets on is easier than fabricating something to weld on top of the bracket. I would use high strength bolts and locking nuts and weld the seams for extra safety.
Has any one removed or replaced these things before? or do you know of an easy fix without getting into any crazy fabrication? (i don't have many fabrication tools)

Just use grade 8 and locking hardware. 7/16 bolts fit the best through rivet holes-very rarely do you need to run a drill through for the bolt to fit.

Do as you say, drill the old rivets and replace the frame mounts with OE GM cut offs.
Fabricating new ones would be more work in the long run.
