head gasket thickness
« on: December 14, 2014, 11:44:22 PM »
hey guys i need help. i just measured my deck height on my short block with a straight edge and feeler gauge. my pistons are .025 in the hole. the rebuild kit i purchased from summit has a head gasket compressed thickness of .040 to .041. im using vortec heads castings 062. i have been reading that i need a quench of 40. how would i go by achieving this desired quench. also i used the compression calculator on summit.com and it put me at 10.27.1 compression. is that good? i have a 350 bored .030 over, stock crank and rods, summit rebuild kit SUM-SBCKIT1-300. the cam im using is comp cam 12-235-2.please help sending heads to machine tomorrow to get cut to the cam and want to have everything when i get heads back.please help
Gotta clean my back windshield cause I'm too busy kicking up dust
