heater hoses routing
« on: March 21, 2017, 08:01:23 AM »
Never thought about it much but I am in the process of replacing heater core. Anyway, doing some research reveals that I have the hoses routed all wrong (well, it came like this from previous owner). I have coolant coming from top of water pump to heater core, then from heater core to radiator. Can someone confirm to me whether this is right or not? The vast majority of my research says coolant should come from intake manifold. Thanks.

Correct, you are running a bypass loop. You need to come out of the intake and either the WP or radiator. It looks a little cleaner going to the radiator and you can easily plug the waterpump port.
