Painted rear step bumper
« on: March 01, 2017, 10:41:16 AM »
Trying to work on buying the last few part of my 78 C10 before summer. I currently have a painted rear step bumper, I love the look it has but the issue is it is rusted and warped. Does anyone know a good place to look for one? I'm not looking to buy one out of   or a catalog because the new chrome wont look right on my truck, i have been restoring it to look original. To get to the point I'm looking for a painter rear step bumper that is lightly used (no major rust and is not warped). Does anyone have an idea of where i could look? looking to spend a MAX of $200

For your money you should be able to find one fairly easy on Craigslist or a local junkyard.  I see them all the time, both stock and aftermarket on Squarebodies in the yards

I believe brand name Westin or Fey make a bumper for around $150 new, sometimes you need their brackets as well which is another $50. That puts you right at budget. Your going to be hard pressed to get a clean bumper and then paint it for your budget, especially in the north east(I know I've been looking as well to replace the chrome job I have). These bumpers are typically black, grey, or silver painted(chromed bumpers are over the $200 mark)

Maybe send Chris here a message and see what he could get in the store.

I got mine from the site store, not a step, but still real good quality, proper fit.

I can get Fey step bumpers for universal, but they are over $300.
