I've used the same thing only I cleaned the plastic real good with dish soap and used adhesive promoter before I sprayed the color. 5 years later still like the day I sprayed it. Used it on my dash and my steering column. Was worried about key scratches but seems to hold up

I used Krylon plastic paint on my vinyl shutters last fall.  So far, seems to be holding up well.

This is how I do it and the only thing I'll add is I use a gray scuffle with the soap when cleaning it as a fine abrasive. Your goals to remove all dirts, oils, and silicon from the surface, the adhesion promoter I suspect melts the plastic slightly in order for the new paint to really bond with it.

The key to it is the preparation.

Bingo - prep, prep, prep.

I have also used the Duplicolor to paint an old vinyl motorcycle seat.  I took it from grey to black and you couldn't even tell.  I did not use any adhesion promoter.

I've used SEM paint on old arm rests out of the junk yard to make them match in a 59 Edsel and it has worked well for 3 years now. Once again, follow directions and clean the surface well.
