Tidying up the engine bay (aka, can I remove this?)
« on: June 13, 2017, 04:28:57 PM »
I am in the middle of a cam swap on my 1984 GMC 1500 with a 305. I am trying to tidy up the engine bay and came across a couple of things that I am not sure about removing. I would appreciate any insight as to what these items are and if they can be removed without causing problems. This truck is not a daily driver.

i believe #1 is part of the cruise control, so if you're not planning on having CC, then you can dump it.

#2 looks to be something to do with the oil pressure.  Do you have a oil pressure gauge or just a light?

#3 has to do with the lockup torque converter.  And it appears that it is not hooked up.  i would not get rid of this feature.

cruise control servo.
oil pressure sending unit.
tip in switch.

Removing any of these simply devalues your truck so be sure you want to remove them and if so, tag and bag.
