Added a new car to the fleet.
« on: June 19, 2017, 04:47:30 PM »
I finally got myself a new car.
I've only owned 1 new vehicle before (a 97 Dodge Ram Sport short bed 4x4).
It's hard to believe how fast the last 20 years went by.
Here's the new ride. A 2017 Corvette.
As much as I like driving my old CUCV with a 6.2 diesel, I gotta say, my new 6.2 is a blast.

Those cars are great values for their performance level and it's got a warranty. We had discussed this a couple times with the new body style, we will see what the end of the year looks like.

Congrats, well deserved. I have the hardest time getting used to being in a car especially ones low to the ground. That must be a heck of an adjustment for you from a CUCV.  8) Just be careful, those things break loose very easily. I recommend testing it's limits in a vacant lot or on the track before you go nuts on the road. My buddy just wrecked his Z06

Thanks guys.
LTZ, I'm sure I'll have to ask you a few questions on the technical stuff like the performance data recorder. I'm in over my head with some of the gadgets on this thing.
Vile, I'm gonna take it easy on this car for a while. I drove it off the lot with 9 miles on it. It just turned 500 miles & got the first oil change.  At some point it will make it to New England Dragway. GM claims it's a high 11 second car (I think they are optimistic).  The way I drive I may get into the 13's with it.
Irish, it's a 69 camaro.  The snow picture is from when I moved into my house last year. I've owned that car for 17 years. It's a keeper.  The rusty CUCV is a parts truck.
