Hello everyone
« on: June 20, 2017, 11:11:49 AM »
I'm new to this whole tap talk thing and just trying to get a feel for it my name is Michael I live in riverside, CA I just turned 18 in may and the day after my birthday i went out and bought my first truck I purchased a 1979 c10 everything is original except for the motor and the motor doesn't even have 2k miles on it yet I have paperwork for everything but I really don't know where to start with this truck like I said I'm only 18 and I do work so I have decent budget. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. I have a 350 5.7 with the original 350 3 speed transmission which has been leaking since I got it as of right now I plan on replacing my suspension bushings because everything is dried and cracked and also my shocks because they are completely shot.

Welcome from the St. Louis, MO area.  I have never accessed any forum on anything other than a PC so I am behind the times I guess.

Michael, welcome from Central California!  Safety items and suspension are great starting points.

I have never accessed any forum on anything other than a PC so I am behind the times I guess.

Me too!  In high school I swore I would never own a computer.  Now, it's difficult to image living without.   :)

Welcome from PA! Im diggin the truck looks like a good starter project. you should swap the front end parts to 79 year correct parts 8)

awesome to see younger people into old vehicles. I mean its awesome when they are into our squarebodies but i simply love seeing young people drive anything old and classic. and by choice lol not just because its all they can afford

FlatBlack, "old" is relative.  To a young person, 'old' vehicles were built this century!   :D
