Tightening up the front suspension
« on: July 28, 2017, 11:03:55 PM »
Ok guys I'm a newb. But when checking the front suspension what's the easiest way to know what needs to be replaced? So far I just crawled under the truck and had someone turn steering wheels back n forth and looked to see what seemed loose. The jack truck up l, move tire side to side for tiered and up and down for ball joint. Any other ways?

take it to an alignment shop. they cant do an alignment if a parts bad. but make sure they wont charge you if they find a bad part. they'll say "sorry, cant do an alignment cause of..... we can replace it for you" and then op out of the deal and say you'll replace it.

keep in mind if a part is bad to the point they cant do an alignment then more than likely you'll need an alignment after you replace the part

As stated above, get the usual worn parts replaced.  THEN replace that OEM factory rag joint with a 88-96 Jeep XJ steering shaft from the junk yard. Fits right in with minimal effort, makes your truck steer surprisingly better!
