73 3/4 Ton Brakes
« on: October 06, 2007, 04:38:13 PM »
I got a 73 c20, with the stock rotors and pads and drums on the rear. The truck has 70k on it. The front breaks are about shot I think, it makes a humming noise when I break sometimes.

Can anyone help me find some replacement break parts?

Thanks for your help,
Zach

Being that old I would suggest new rubber brake hoses, one rear, &both front. If the calipers work, not hanging up etc. you are just talking about pads and rotors for the front. Repack your wheel bearings and new bearing seals. Shoes, hold down kits / springs, possibly wheel cylinders, and maybe drums for the rear. Any reputable auto parts store should have all this or be able to get it overnight.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs
